Description
Swimmers get bored with the same foods over and over, so you’re going to want to change things up every so often. The Berry Recovery Smoothie is a great protein recovery smoothie that is similar to the Strawberry-Vanilla Protein Smoothie but with a little different taste. It’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that your swimmer needs for a healthy recovery after a strenuous practice and provides a moderate amount of protein for muscle repair.
Ingredients
1 cup | frozen mixed berries
½ | large banana
1 cup | Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1 cup | Unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or skim/hemp, soy, coconut)
1 tbsp. | Ground chia seeds
2 scoops | Metagenics Biopure Protein
Instructions
1 | Begin by washing the strawberries and removing the stems. If using frozen strawberries, let them thaw for a few minutes before blending.
2 | Add the strawberries, milk, yogurt, and protein powder to a blender.
3 | Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.
4 | If the smoothie is too thick, add a handful of ice and blend again until desired consistency is reached.
5 | Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy!
Tips
1 | Use frozen berries to make your smoothie thicker and colder.
2 | Add ice cubes if you’d like your smoothie even colder.
3 | Use ripe bananas for a sweeter smoothie.
4 | Use a high-powered blender to ensure your smoothie is perfectly smooth. We use a Vitamix and love it!
